FAQ - Questions & Answers
General questions
Why did you start PimPam?
When we moved to Germany, we waited a long time for a daycare place; especially in winter, it was difficult for our daughter to meet friends her own age. There were indoor playgrounds in the area but not nearby; that’s why we decided to create our own one that would correspond to our personal ideas.
Why is it called PimPam?
In the Dominican Republic there is a custom of ending children’s sayings and short stories with the syllables ‘pim-pón’. We decided that pim - pam sounded better and hence the name.
What age group is PimPam suitable for?
PimPam is designed for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Can older siblings come along?
The play area is intended for children up to 6 years of age. Older siblings may play as an exception, provided they adapt to the play of the younger guests.
When is a good day and time to visit you?
Any day is a good day to visit PimPam :) We don’t all have the same preferences, there are children and adults who like it lively and loud, and others who prefer it calm and quiet. Here at PimPam there are days when it’s naturally busier than usual (when it’s stormy and cold outside) and others when you have the entire café almost to yourself. Everyone should choose the day that best suits their own mood and interests.
Who is behind PimPam?
PimPam, that’s us, Denny from the Dominican Republic and Christian from Sindelfingen. We met at university in Barcelona and lived there together for ten years. Now we live here in the area with our family.
Where can I submit requests or feedback?
We are grateful for any suggestions and ideas for improvement. The best way is online using the form or directly with us!
Reservation
Is there a reservation requirement at PimPam?
No, there is no reservation requirement, but also no guarantee of entry without prior reservation. If the play café is full, we unfortunately cannot welcome any more guests. We therefore always recommend making reservations in advance; especially if you don’t live in the neighborhood.
Do I have a guaranteed seat when I make a reservation?
There is always a separate table for birthday groups. There is enough seating for all other guests, but unfortunately we cannot promise a chair for everyone at all times.
Is there a time limit for my visit?
You can arrive whenever you want within a time slot. The reservation time is just a guide. You can always stay until we close, i.e. until 1pm or until 6pm.
Is it very crowded at PimPam?
The number of visitors to an indoor playground varies greatly depending on the weather, the season and the time of day. In order for a business to be economically viable, weak days must be compensated for with strong days. We have a reservation system that helps us avoid overcrowding. However, if you prefer it empty and quiet, you should avoid days when things are naturally more crowded (weekends, rainy outside, etc.).
Why is there no phone number to contact?
For our guests’ enjoyment and safety, our attention is focused on the guests. We read every written message and respond as quickly as possible as soon as we have a quiet moment.
Can daycare centers and nannies visit PimPam?
Yes, PimPam is a nice destination for daycare groups and childminders from the area. Further information on this page for groups: Daycare visits
Arrival
Where is the best place to park?
There are large parking garages nearby; we recommend ParkOne, but there are also car parks at Mercaden, Poco, CityCenter, Schloßberg or Kreissparkasse. The tariffs are between 1.0 and 1.5 euros per hour.
How do I get to PimPam by bus and train?
Our café is located right next to the Böblingen train/bus station. The S-Bahn S1 and S60, the regional express RE14A, RE14B, RE87, the regional train RB46 and numerous bus lines from the area stop there.
Where can I park my stroller?
We recommend parking strollers outside the door. Small babies who sleep in the carriage are of course allowed to come inside with their carriage.
Can I keep my shoes on?
Shoes may be left on in the café area. However, for reasons of cleanliness, the play area may not be entered with street shoes.

Yes, we accept Girocard (formerly EC card), Maestro, V Pay, VISA and Mastercard, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
